Are You A Pre-Title-IX Woman?

Many middle aged women like me -- the pre-Title IX babies -- didn't have the opportunity to explore our physical natures growing up. Motorcycling has unleashed my adventurous side. I'd always thought of Title IX as a sports law, but athletics is just the start. Perhaps what we're seeing in the workplace is a direct result of this law.

Ruminations: Wyoming’s Frontier Prison Museum

Looking back, I don’t know why I expected the Wyoming Frontier Prison Museum to be fun. Perhaps I succumbed to the pop culture that celebrates and immortalizes crooks like Jesse James, Billy The Kid, Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid but sends into obscurity saints who raise orphans and nurse the sick.

Caribbean of the Rockies

Stopping in Logan,UT for a bite to eat, my pink bra caught the attention of the manager, who asked about my ride and where I was headed. Turns out I would have missed Bear Lake if she hadn't reached out, and that would have been most unfortunate.

Awesome Idaho

One of the Conga founders, a Canadian named Flo Fuhr, told me something that I took to heart. “Tam, the people who ride with you are doing it because they want to take care of you. Let them do that -- let them take care of you.” And take care of me, they did.

Talking to the Nice Folks on Iron Horse Motorcycle Radio

I was delighted when Stan Gordon asked me to be his guest on WIXE Radio today. As experienced cross-country bikers, Stan and his co-host Mike asked me questions I haven't had the opportunity to answer in other interviews. They were also gracious in letting me talk about Conga III and telling people how they could donate to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
