There is a time to yield gracefully to the wisdom

There is a time to yield gracefully to the wisdom of the young. My eighteen-year-old niece took this shot after carefully placing both me and herself “just right.” I resisted the temptation to direct her shot besides saying “Do you think a backlit shot will work?”

I loved watching her focus intently on the focus and getting that solar flare, something I hadn’t imagined. Yes, there is a time for me to stand in my experience, but not as often as I seem to believe is necessary. There are many kinds of wisdom, and one of them is knowing when to step aside.

I’m visiting my parents with my youngest son and

I’m visiting my parents with my youngest son and caught a tender moment between him and his grandmother at the coffee station.

So many memories come flooding back of their lives together. Grammy taking him to swim and karate lessons every summer, treating him to McNuggets that his cruel mother denied him, and letting him drink from her coffee cup. Life is precious. Precious and short.

2023 vision board. No left brain filter, just went with the images that spoke to me. Only then did I select and arrange these. I am going to see how they “make sense” as the year progresses. Mounted on the wall facing my desk so it registers on my subconscious daily. And yes, that is a puppet version of Mister Rogers on the left.
