Dasan thinks that the book store is going away, I am not so sure. Perhaps the book store as we know it, as there will not be a need to distribute and display the number of books they currently have. That said, I can not believe that the huge number of current readers are going to want to give up the complete book store experience. It may be more like a Starbucks or an antique treebook store but I think they will be around at least until the current 30 something generation is gone, then who knows.

Rachel, Thanks so much for taking my offer to weigh in. With the credibility of one who owns both the Nook and the Kindle, you make a brilliant case for the former.

As Dasan pointed out, in a sense it is the reading experience itself, and in that regard everyone seems to think Nook will get up to “speed” with Kindle soon. So with two basically equivalent devices, the numerous Nook options you so thoroughly describe tip the scales for me.
